From first conversation to the first tap at the canteen counter usually takes two to three weeks, most of which is waiting for wristbands to arrive. Here is exactly what happens, so nothing about it is a surprise.
Go to the sign-up formHalf an hour, in person or by phone, with whoever runs the canteen and someone from the school or PTA. We want to understand how payment works today before proposing to change it.
How many counters, how many students, who holds the float, and whether there is reliable internet at the counter. This determines how many wristbands and tablets you need.
We provide a one-page bilingual consent form for parents, and the privacy policy it refers to. Nothing is set up for a child until their form comes back signed.
NFC wristbands are ordered in the sizes your students need. This is the longest wait in the process and the only part not under our control.
One meet-up at the school. About five minutes per family: install the app, link the wristband, set a daily limit, first top-up. We run it; you provide the room.
We are present or on call for the first week of service, because the questions that matter only appear once a real queue forms at break time.
This is the part schools ask about most, and the answer is deliberately simple.
During the pilot, parents transfer directly to the school committee by DuitNow. The balance is credited to the child's wallet the same day.
Kalsa Dermaga never takes custody of parents' funds during the pilot. The wallet is a record of a balance the committee holds, not an account with us.
Canteen operators see gross sales, the 1% platform fee and their net figure calculated automatically for any date range.
Wristbands cost roughly RM3–8 each depending on quantity and style. We will confirm the exact figure for your school in step 2, before anything is ordered.
